"I have been wearing hearing aids for about six years now. I was wearing the old technology hearing devices for six years. They weren’t doing me any good, they wouldn’t remove any background noise. I would be in a restaurant where it would be real loud, I wasn’t able to converse with anyone across from me, and if I turned the old aid all the way down I couldn’t even hear how noisy it was. Even if I were talking to someone outside of a busy restaurant all I would be able to hear is the background noise. I know that either way nothing was going to help the noise at that point in time.
However, I them purchased the new up-to-date digital hearing aids, and ever since I got the new hearing aids I have been able to hear a lot better. The new hearing aids cut down the volume of the noise in loud places. I can converse with people across from me! I’m now able to understand people without any background noise. Life just seems less hectic with these new digital hearing aids.

"My life has improved since I bought my hearing aids. On the job, just being able to comprehend the words being spoken. I work with a lot of people who have accents, now I can understand nearly everything they say.
When I’m in my garden, I can hear the birds singing, a sound I had not heard before getting my hearing aids.
I even enjoy the sounds of traffic going by.
I appreciate being able to hear all of the various sounds and noises of everyday. For instance, pots boiling on the stove, my own footsteps, and the ice maker in the fridge.
When I first moved into my house 18 years ago, I could hear the trains coming about three quarters of a mile from my house. I didn’t realize until I got my hearing aids that I have not heard the trains go by for quite some years.
It is wonderful to notice that I am beginning to take some of these normal everyday sounds for granted, as normal hearing people do.
It amazes me to go from a 50 percent hearing loss to near normal hearing.
Also, for the first time in many years, I can comprehend what my youngest son says without him having to repeat himself over and over again. After his voice changed it was difficult for me to understand him, and frustrating for him to have to constantly repeat everything.
I love having my hearing aids! The quality of my life has improved tremendously!
I can watch TV without captioning, if I choose. I can hear people calling my name from across the street and even carry on a conversation with them. If someone is talking to me with my back turned, I can hear them!
I’m constantly amazed at hearing new sounds I haven’t heard for an extremely long time. I have learned to enjoy all sounds and not by annoyed by them." |
